GARDEN CLUB
Gardening as a profession, a pastime, and a philosophy.
For nearly 30 years, I have worked in all kinds of gardens, in all kinds of places, alongside clients and colleagues, artisans and tradespeople, plant specialists, architects, designers, and builders. It has been a privilege to inhabit this world.
GARDEN CLUB is an effort to extend that community — to create a space where knowledge, skill, judgment, and experience can circulate more freely.
A Few Things I Have Learned
- Great gardens take time to develop and evolve into what they want to be
- Sustainability — in all its forms — is key to success
- Gardening can be a solitary business, full of joys and heartbreaks that are not so easy to share
- The process of gardening is as satisfying — if not more so — than the product of the work
- Garden knowledge comes from many sources — some science, some lore, all open to discussion
- Relationships built around gardening are wonderful things

Why It Matters
Gardens take time. They demand attention, patience, and judgment. They evolve slowly. They succeed through accumulated knowledge — much of it hard-won.
Whether gardening is your profession, your serious pastime, or part of your philosophy of living, the work deepens when it is shared.
GARDEN CLUB is designed to be an ongoing practice — not a course, not a trend, but a steady place for serious gardeners to gather.
The work is often solitary. The learning doesn't have to be.
Founding Season Membership
APRIL 15 - JULY 15
For our opening season - April, May, and June - GARDEN CLUB will try on a founding
membership structure.
All clubs have dues, and GARDEN CLUB will too. We are working on this introductory
membership level plan intending to incubate the early establishment of this community:
the overhead, the team, the time spent creating and curating the member experience, and
the work of helping GARDEN CLUB take root.
Each level offers the same access.
They are simply different ways of supporting and participating in the club, depending on
your circumstance
Community Supported Membership
$197
$49/mo
For those who want to participate but could use some support to make it possible.
This level is intended for members who may be in transition, building something, working in circumstances that are not yet fully meeting their needs, or simply needing a bit more room right now. This membership is made possible through the support of Pay It Forward Members.
FOUNDING MEMBERSHIP
$297
$99/mo
For those who are comfortably able to cover their needs and participate at the standard founding level.
This membership reflects the anticipated cost of running GARDEN CLUB — including overhead, the team, and the time and care required to shape and tend this space.
Pay-It-Forward Membership
$447
$149/mo
For those who are in a position to contribute a little more.
This option helps make GARDEN CLUB more accessible to others and supports the broader health of the community. If you have the capacity — or if this is something you can
reasonably expense as part of your work or business — this level can help us widen our circle.
The Invitation
GARDEN CLUB is envisioned as a curated group of professionals, enthusiasts, and novices with an interest in gardening in its many facets.
Our founding members have already received invitations to take part. If you have been referred by one of them — welcome. If you have found your way here through other means, we would be glad to learn more about you, your garden, and what draws you to this work.
We Want You In Here
If you’d like to participate and none of the above options feel workable right now, please reach out directly - we’ll sort something out.
